Research Standards

Red Elephant uses a hierarchy of evidence when evaluating men’s health information and supplement claims. Not every study answers the same question, and not every ingredient study proves that a finished product works.

Evidence We Prioritize

  • Systematic reviews and meta-analyses when appropriate
  • Randomized controlled human trials
  • Other peer-reviewed human studies
  • Guidance from recognized medical and public-health organizations
  • Ingredient-level evidence, clearly identified as such

Finished Product vs Ingredient Evidence

A study on one ingredient does not automatically validate a multi-ingredient supplement. When a finished formulation has been studied directly, we identify that distinction. When only ingredient-level evidence exists, we say so.

What We Examine

Where information is available, we consider sample size, study design, control group, duration, population, dosage, endpoints, statistical significance, conflicts of interest, replication and whether the measured outcome is clinically meaningful.

What We Do Not Treat as Proof

Testimonials, traditional use, mechanistic theories, animal research, marketing claims and the mere presence of a popular ingredient are not treated as equivalent to demonstrated clinical effectiveness.

Safety and Medical Context

Persistent sexual-health symptoms can be associated with underlying medical conditions. Our content is educational and is not a substitute for individualized diagnosis or treatment. We encourage professional evaluation when symptoms are persistent, sudden, worsening or medically concerning.
